Is it bad to have an edgy personality Can one be cured of it

Is it bad to have an edgy personality? Can one be cured of it?

No and no.
See, that was easy.
Maybe a bit edgy, too.
You don’t specify what you mean by edgy and I have no idea what it could mean to you.
But I think I have a somewhat edgier personality in that I don’t just act or talk “nice”for the sake of being nice, I ask questions and ask follow-up questions and can be quite annoying in not just accepting the status quo.
I resist being put in categories and boxes.
I am told I am “intense”.
And none of this is bad or wrong, or needs changing.
In fact edgy people are probably over represented in the arts and creative classes, as well as among entrepreneurs and innovators.
I think I am in great company!
So be careful in labeling personality traits as bad or wrong.
It is fine to label behaviors as bad or good.
But how we approach the world is neither bad or good, even if sometimes it seems to be less than effective.

As a member of the edgy teenager facility, I will tell you that 90% of edgy teenagers have high levels of angst.
If you are an edgy adult than the levels of angst are much lower, but if you were an especially edgy teen than you may see the symptoms take place after wards.
You unfortunately can not be cured of an edgy personality, but you can tame it.
I would recommend the following:
These are just some simple steps you can take to be less edgy.

Others do not like edgy people and do not understand them.
Edgy personality is a symptom of trauma and pain.
One needs to heal.
This is done best by being confident that all is fine and will be fine.
Chant Om very slowly as often as you can.
Chanting Hari Om (the sounds itself is healing.
Hari is just a name of God, you can associate the name Hari with any God’s word in your religion, but this sound has good healing frequency).
All Beej Mantras when chanted slowly help.
Pranayam helps.
All the best.
Edit 20th March 2018: Shankh mudra is also highly recommended.

Please love your personality: only you are you.
And only I am me.
Everyone is delightfully different.

We all have different body, different mind, and different soul-atman.
It would be good if we all had the same ideals: truth, goodness, beauty etc.
Mind is actually supposed to be full of knowledge yet silent – when mind is silent, All-Blissful God floods every pore of the body – this is known as self-illumined being – Osho states original ancient Egyptians, descended from Vedic Hindu Aryans were self-illumined – they glowed from the inside out.
No cosmetics needed.

Yoga beautifies, allopathic quackery uglifies.

Yoga is intellectual property of Hinduism.
Better you are edgy instead of angry.
Anger is unattractive in everyone, especially in a girl or woman.
Never keep emotions bottled up inside – this creates disease – release anger ethically so as to become tranquil – Tranquility is good ideal.
Good conduct – ideally no foul language is my personal ideal.
Very difficult when dealing with the mlecch.

Be happy – happiness is prerequisite for yoga.
Life is for ethical pleasure.
Hindu good news: we are divine.
Body is for pleasure.
Mind is for happiness.
And soul is for bliss.
Meditation leads to ever increasing ecstasy and euphoria.
Reject artificial mood stabilizers.

It depends what you mean by edgy.
If it’s not detrimental to others around you and causes them no harm then being different from others is no problem.
You can’t change your personality, you adapt it to the people and situation you are in but fundamentally you are who you are and you can’t change that.
