The baby cried.
She smiled.

I am going to ramble for a bit here, so you can skip this part if you wish to do so.

I was discussing poetry with my mother, when she told me that she loved haikus.
She gave me two examples of Tamil haikus, and both of them are amazing.

இந்தக காட்டில்
எந்த மூங்கில்
புல்லாங்குழல்.

Which bamboo, from this forest, shall become a flute?
Pardon me, that translation was shitty.
Mum said that this is the translation of an old Japanese haiku.
If anyone finds the original, feel free to hit me up.

She then said that she can write a haiku using a single word.
I objected, don’t haikus have a meter?
She replied with a smile.
“Here’s my haiku.
குழந்தை.

A child.

Her words still ring in my ears, even though it’s been years since the conversation.

A baby.
A human being.

An individual entity with wishes and thoughts.
An entirely independent soul.

The child shall grow up with hopes and dreams.
They shall have likes and dislikes, people they love, fears to keep them awake at night.

They shall breathe and smile and laugh and cry.

Every human being is a walking story.

Sonder is a beautiful thing.

“Love :- Maybe, eventually and finally !”
It always starts with a maybe, where a girl/boy would fall into thousands of possibilities of finding that reason for the liking that they would have for one another.
A boy would think often, that maybe if he makes her happy by doing things which he may think is stupid, she would like him as well.

After many maybe’s, it is time of eventually.
After knowing the person in & out, you think that person is what you were looking for your entire life and eventually for the very first time you tell yourself that you love her/him.
Acceptance of the feeling that you have for the opposite person is what you call love.

and finally, after thousands deep breathes and a heavy feeling of clot that you feel in your chest, the anxiety and excitement of letting the other person how much you love them.
The moment that would change your and the other person’s life, is when you finally love each other with all possible affection and feeling you have for each other.

Therefore i think of it as, thousand maybe’s, many eventually’s , and one finally !!

She cried, her parents smiled.

He lied to save her.

His toys, replaced by bricks.

He said, “ My daughter is my world”.

Her only dream, normal family.

Her smile is his happiness.

She is miracle for herself.

Her books, replaced by utensils.

They slept without dinner, again.

I am fine, mother lied.

We should love ourself more.

She love him, he didn’t.

She cried for mom’s love.

He laughed again at himself.

He lied but eyes can’t.

Thankyou.

Short stories in five words….

:)

Might as well try to make a few 😛
In all seriousness though, you can’t really write a story with only five words.
You can allude to some of sort of development, but that’s not really a story.
It can be an entertaining and challenging task however.
:D

Black sword chops the jungle.

Troll gets a new follower.

Colour-blinds declared anti national.

The white elephant ordered rampage.

Smile and look into mirror.

The father after work ,was so tired that he hardly got time to play with his own children.
His hard work were paid well, but his hard work didn’t pay well for his tensions and loneliness.
Somewhere in the race of meetings and advertisement he lost the charm of being a happy man.

His routine used to start with a early energetic running session towards the office desk and used to end up on the bed with all tiredness .
His children grew up, schooling homework made them busy , may be they lost that emotion of having dinner over one table .
But.
they didn’t mind , they were understanding kids , understood well the situation and emotion that father was going through.

One fine day , the kid waits for the father to return home and asks him to take break so that they can have a get together on weekends.
In a tone of sadness and restlessness he replied “son, i’m a bit busy this week” .
Without any queries the son leaves the room.
The same question did arise again before the summers, along with the same reply from father.

Days passed , one fine day the son waited for father late at night .
This time his emotions were mature enough.
The father arrives and he asks , could you please follow me , wanna talk to you for 5 mins .
Father followed the son, the son open his drawer gifted him a box, and says when you see it you have to smile .
The father unwrapped the gift and it was mirror , he smiled .
The son cried, and said “My, father is back”.
Without a word , the father hugs him with all emotions he could gather .
And promised to look at the mirror smiling again again.

Yes.
.
there are many talented people out there.
My personal favourite is this by Ernest Hemingway
For Sale: Baby shoes, Never worn.

Writer talks about a baby, who was not born.
So shoes that were brought for the child is now being given away by the mother, as it may provide some measure of solace to her and another baby could be benefited directly.

This is only one interpretation of this six word novel.

And this has turned as a harsh reality of our country where we are not able to provide our children Right to live, let alone their basic needs such as education, health and food.

This is what I tried to write a short story in only 5 WORDS.

Interpretation Of Story:
Thanks for Reading.

This is the story of successful people.

They DECIDE what they want .

The COMMIT to their decision honestly.

They ACT on what they have decided.

They SUCCEED what they do regardless of failures.

They REPEAT this process.

So its DECIDE,COMMIT,ACT,SUCCEED and REPEAT.

Yeah! 5 words are enough to express our feeling.
Even there can be a story on those 5 words.
We have either faced these or will face this in future.

Let me try
GOOD LUCK
THANK YOU.

A 6 word story is attributed to Hemingway though according to Wikipedia he may not be the author.
Regardless, it's easily adapted to 5 words.

OOH OOH, I CAN!
Friends, best friends, lovers, strangers.

Not only does this tell a cohesive story, but it’s also very sad.
I shall now write a few more to prove a bet to my friend (and win $5).

And then she was gone.

I could never love you.

This is all my fault.

Go then.
Be the hero.

I never asked for this.

Everybody lies, my sweet child.

Dear family, I hate you
My friend once said that…
“Who are you?” “Oh, nobody…”
I wish I could remember

[ Could not figure out an appropriate image to represent the sense of ‘breaking’ in a correct manner, but still I hope you get the meaning .
]

Writing a 5 word story is quite a hard task, but J.
K.
Rowling has managed to convey quite a lot with just 5 words.

A lot of emotions.
A lot of character revelation.
A lot of love.
All expressed through just 5 simple words.

“After all this time?
Always"
All Harry Potter fans would agree that this is one simple sentence, but so meaningful.

I loved you, you didn’t!
Not unwanted, it’s a lovechild!
“Who’s behind your success?”
“Parents!”
F*** the society, I’m gay!
“Who’s your favorite superhero?”
“Bro!”
“What hurts the most?”
“Terrorism.

Rape victim delivering motivational speeches!
Once poor, now a millionaire!
“What’s equality?”
“Humanism over Chauvinism!”
Disabled author followed by millions!
A drug addict turned counsellor!
His music overshadowed his deafness!
.
.
shall add more as they pop up ;)

Question who is fiction here.

Every day, I’m more unsure.

Loretta Snow, are you real?
A character of fiction, real?
Unlikely, but perhaps I am.

For I have beautiful thoughts;
Morbid, emotional, tangible, real thoughts.

I’ve cried a thousand tears.

Felt a raindrops touch, soft.

Held my mothers calloused hand.

Sang unabashed to the radio.

Still I question, I wonder.

As a story book character.

One figment of pure imagination.

Would people truly see me?

I was discussing poetry with my mother, when she told me that she loved haikus.
She gave me two examples of Tamil haikus, and both of them are amazing.

இந்தக காட்டில்

He lied but eyes can’t.

Short stories in five words….

:)

Might as well try to make a few 😛
In all seriousness though, you can’t really write a story with only five words.
You can allude to some of sort of development, but that’s not really a story.
It can be an entertaining and challenging task however.
:D

Black sword chops the jungle.

What’s App keeps kidnapping souls.

Crib for sale.
Never used.

OOH OOH, I CAN!
Friends, best friends, lovers, strangers.

Not only does this tell a cohesive story, but it’s also very sad.
I shall now write a few more to prove a bet to my friend (and win $5).

And then she was gone.

I could never love you.

This is all my fault.

Go then.
Be the hero.

I never asked for this.

Everybody lies, my sweet child.

Dear family, I hate you
My friend once said that…
“Who are you?” “Oh, nobody…”
I wish I could remember

His music overshadowed his deafness!

shall add more as they pop up ;)

Question who is fiction here.

Every day, I’m more unsure.

Loretta Snow, are you real?
A character of fiction, real?
Unlikely, but perhaps I am.

For I have beautiful thoughts;

Blesed, Heaven and in Hell!
Not important, it's only ME.

That one answer changed her.

This is something I relate to, there have been times where a single answer written by a stranger far away made total sense about the situation in my life.

It sometimes gave me hope.
Sometimes gave me answers to where should I lead.

That things which I read on the perfect time are a bliss.

Maybe that's one of the reason I have started loving this platform totally.

There are answers which have changed me and shaped me as a better person than what I was yesterday.

Thankyou
Love you Quora.

Yeh waqt bhi guzar jayega
Akbar once gives a task to Birbal
"Birbal, can you find me something that can keep me Happy when I am Sad, and Sad when I am Happy"
So Birbal gives him a written note and tells: "Huzoor, Please keep this with you always and read it when you are Happy or Sad"
The note read – "Yeh waqt bhi guzar jayega" ( This time will pass away too)
So the next time Akbar was Happy, he read "This time will pass away"
He felt sad that it wouldn't last long.

And when he was sad, he read again "This time will pass away" and was happy!
A must keep note for all of us – Yeh waqt bhi guzar jayega

Thanks for a2a, Hiranya.

““Fall in Love – Proposed – Rejected – Departed – Hope””

HAHA I think that’s enough.

Can anyone write a short story in 5 words?

Twins….
.
but not by birth.

He understood….
.
without any words.

She gave him another chance.

He wanted to cry…….
couldn't!
Started yesterday…… but never continued.

Jumped….
.
he wanted to live.

Tied a raakhi…… to himself.

….

Edit: I am providing the explanation of two of them as many are facing difficulty in perceiving them:
Twins….
.
but not by birth.

They were very close friends and hence behaved like twins.

Started yesterday…….
.
but never continued.

She thought her love story started yesterday but her crush never thought in that way.
Hence, her so-called story never continued.

Hope this helps:)
….
.

Thank you:)

She cried, her parents smiled.
( on her birth)
He lied to save her.

His toys, replaced by bricks.

He said, “ My daughter is my world”.

Her only dream, normal family.

Her smile is his happiness.

She is miracle for herself.

Her books, replaced by utensils.

They slept without dinner, again.

I am fine, mother lied.

We should love ourself more.

She love him, he didn’t.

She cried for mom’s love.

He laughed again at himself.

He lied but eyes can’t.

Thankyou.

Gracias!

Short stories in five words….

Might as well try to make a few 😛
In all seriousness though, you can’t really write a story with only five words.
You can allude to some of sort of development, but that’s not really a story.
It can be an entertaining and challenging task however.

Question who is fiction here.

Every day, I’m more unsure.

Loretta Snow, are you real?
A character of fiction, real?
Unlikely, but perhaps I am.

For I have beautiful thoughts;

Blesed, Heaven and in Hell!
Not important, it's only ME.

That one answer changed her.

This is something I relate to, there have been times where a single answer written by a stranger far away made total sense about the situation in my life.

It sometimes gave me hope.
Sometimes gave me answers to where should I lead.

That things which I read on the perfect time are a bliss.

Maybe that's one of the reason I have started loving this platform totally.

There are answers which have changed me and shaped me as a better person than what I was yesterday.
